Welcome to the 3^rd MCSCT!

The 3rd Macao Conference on Smart City Technologies 2023 is organized by the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau), co-organized by the Science and Technology Development Fund, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Macau, Zhuhai UM Science and Technology Research Institute, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Joint Laboratory for Smart Cities. With the theme “Energizing Tomorrow’s Cities: Unleashing the Potential of Smart AI”, the conference is scheduled to take place at the University of Macau on November 3rd and 4th, 2023.

The conference includes keynotes, invited talks, industrial and poster sessions in five technical tracks:

• Sensing and Communications 
• AI and Big Data
• Smart Energy
• Intelligent Transportation
• Urban Public Safety and Disaster Prevention

This year, we are honored to have 6 keynote speakers including Prof. Xiangsheng CHEN (Chair Professor of Shenzhen University), Prof. Xuemin (Sherman) SHEN (Professor of University of Waterloo), Prof. Mohammad SHAHIDEHPOUR (University Distinguished Professor of Illinois Institute of Technology), Prof. Tarek ABDELZAHER (Chair Professor of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), Prof. Hui XIONG (Chair Professor of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) / Rutgers University) and Prof. Limin ZHANG (Chair Professor of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology).

In an era where cities are at the forefront of transformation, our panel, “AI and the Urban Renaissance: What are opportunities and risks?” arrives at a pivotal moment. As urban centers worldwide grapple with the profound impact of AI and technology on urban development, this discussion with five distinguished scholars including Prof. Yike GUO (Chair Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Qiang YANG (CAIO of WeBank, Fellow of CAE and RSC), Tarek ABDELZAHER (Chair Professor of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), Cheng-Zhong XU (Chair Professor of University of Macau), Rostam J. NEUWIRTH (Professor of University of Macau) couldn’t be more timely, 

MCSCT will continue to serve as a platform for presenting the latest research and practices for smart city innovation and transfer, and gathering inspired scholars and professionals to foster discussions, knowledge sharing and potential collaborations worldwide.
